Meet John Logsdon
I’m running for Mayor of Los Angeles because I love this city—and I know we can do better.
The time for action is now. No more delays. No more pushing problems down the road. The “hurry up and wait” is over.
Los Angeles needs a practical, results-driven plan focused on what actually works. We must be willing to adapt, work together, and move forward with purpose. This city has incredible potential, and it’s time to make it shine the way we all know it can.
I’m a common-sense leader who believes in bringing people together. We may not always agree, but we can find solutions that move us forward and create real progress for our communities. That means a coordinated effort across all city agencies, working toward shared goals.
From day one, Public Safety, Homeless, Housing, Affordability and Transportation will be the top priority.
We need to increase the number of police officers and firefighters and ensure our city is prepared for emergencies—both large and small.
We must also address homelessness with urgency and compassion. That means cutting red tape, accelerating access to housing, and prioritizing our most vulnerable neighbors.
At the same time, we need to make Los Angeles more affordable and improve how we move throughout our city—because a city that works well is a city that works for its people.
You deserve a city government that delivers. You pay the taxes—you should see real results from your mayor and city leaders.
With your support, we can make this vision a reality.
So…what are we waiting for???… LET’S GO!
A few things about John
I Love Los Angeles. It’s the greatest city in the world—beaches, mountains, culture—it truly has it all. I’m deeply passionate about this city and its future.
I’m a Producer/Director in the Entertainment Industry: I’ve worked on over a thousand projects. My work requires wearing many hats—building teams, managing budgets, working with a wide variety of personalities, navigating challenges, meeting deadlines, and cutting through red tape to get things done. At the end of the day, I deliver results people can be proud of. I’m a problem solver at heart.
I’m a Business Owner: I understand firsthand what it takes to run a company in Los Angeles and the challenges local businesses face every day.
I’ve Served my Community for Years: I’ve been on the Board of the Neighborhood Council of Westchester/Playa for 7 years and have chaired the Public Safety Committee for the past 6.
I work closely with Local Law Enforcement: I serve on the Community Police Advisory Board for the LAPD Pacific Division.
I’m a Volunteer First Responder: I serve with the National Ski Patrol at Big Bear Mountain Resort.
I’m a Husband and Father: I’m a proud dad of two teenagers and have coached Little League, AYSO Soccer, and served as a leader with YMCA Adventure Guides.
I’m active and outdoors-focused: I’ve been a lifelong runner, skier, cyclist, and surfer.
I care deeply about the Environment: I’m a strong advocate for conservation and protecting our natural spaces.
I come from a hardworking family: I was raised by parents who gave me the opportunity to explore and grow. As a child, I lived in Seattle, Portland, Atlanta, and Kolkata (Calcutta), India. I have two brothers—one a financial advisor and the other a firefighter.
I have deep roots in Los Angeles: Both my Parents, Grandparents and Great Grandparents lived and worked in LA!
Key Issues:
-
Keeping Angelenos safe—our families, seniors, students, visitors, and businesses—is our top priority.
Strengthen the LAPD. Expand the number of sworn officers and invest in recruitment and retention. Currently we are far behind New York and Chicago.
Support and modernize LAFD. Hire top-tier firefighters and ensure they have the facilities, equipment, and resources needed to respond effectively.
Improve response times. Enhance coordination across all first responders to deliver faster, more reliable emergency services—while prioritizing morale and support for those who serve.
Upgrade 911 systems. Modernize emergency call centers, increase staffing, and significantly reduce wait times for both emergency and non-emergency calls.
Strengthen community preparedness. Improve communication and engagement so residents are informed, equipped, and ready in times of emergency.
Expand crisis response teams. Deploy trained professionals for situations that require care and intervention, not law enforcement.
Be prepared for anything. From natural disasters to human related crises, Los Angeles must be ready—every day.
-
No one should be living on the streets. It’s not just unacceptable—it’s inhumane. Los Angeles can and must do better.
Move people into housing faster. Cut red tape and streamline processes so individuals can quickly access interim and permanent housing.
Create housing options for everyone. There is no one-size-fits-all solution. We need housing that meets the needs of families, single adults, seniors, and individuals with pets.
Expand care and treatment services. Increase access to mental health care and addiction treatment centers—safe places where people can receive the help they need. The streets are not a solution.
Prioritize care for the most vulnerable. Individuals experiencing severe mental health or substance use challenges should be connected to medical care and supportive facilities—not left at risk on the streets.
Develop Wellness Villages. Establish centralized locations with wraparound services—housing, healthcare, counseling, and job support—so people can stabilize and rebuild.
Address root causes. Take a long-term approach by:
Investing in youth, education, and safe environments
Expanding drug prevention and addiction recovery programs
Strengthening mental health services across the city, county, and state

Los Angeles faces a housing shortage—and it’s time to take action.
Build more housing, faster. We need to build and we need to build now. Cut the red tape and streamline approvals to accelerate responsible development.
Promote fair and stable rents. Establish clear standards for rent increases that keep housing affordable while protecting the rights of property owners.
Focus growth where it makes sense. Increase density along major boulevards and near transit hubs to support smart, connected communities.
Protect neighborhoods. Preserve the character of single-family (R1) neighborhoods and prevent overdevelopment.
Improve mobility and walkability. Invest in infrastructure that supports public transit, pedestrian access, bike lanes and livable communities.
Support renters and stability. Strengthen rent stabilization policies and explore solutions like a Tenant Improvement Fund to help maintain and upgrade housing. We need to get in front of someone who is at risk of going homeless and help them before it’s too late.
Multi-Use buildings should be a priority. Prioritize buildings that combine residential spaces with ground-level retail, restaurants, and services—enhancing walkability and community vitality.
Expand Access to Parks & Open Space. Parks are essential to healthy communities. In park-poor areas, we must collaborate creatively—such as opening school playgrounds and sports fields for public use—to increase access to green space across Los Angeles.
-
We are blessed with a magical environment: Beaches, Mountains, Lakes, Rivers, Deserts and Weather
Natural Shade. We need to plant 500,000 new trees! This will help with the canopy of LA, cleanse our air and create a more walkable environment.
Keep Our Beaches & Ocean Clean. Need to focus on storm drain capture runoff so trash does not make it to the ocean. Mouths of rivers and streams should have trash capture facilities, like the Ballona Creek Interceptor in Playa Del Rey.
Need a Climate Action Plan. A plan that is thinking about our future and the best way that Los Angeles can be a leading city in the world of environmental stewardship.
City Services Must Go Green. As a city we need to continue working toward the goal of having 100% clean electricity for city operations, buses, police cars and equipment.
Smart Building in Fire Prone Areas. We will continue to have fires, but need to be smart about building homes and businesses in these areas.
-
We need to keep LA moving! But we can do better!
More Buses and Dedicated Bus Lanes. LA needs more buses to decrease wait times for passengers. We also need dedicated rapid transit corridors for buses so they get from point A to point B with as little stops as possible.
More Bike Lanes and Better Accessibility. We need to step up bike culture in LA! We need a web of bike lanes all across Los Angeles, that connects every neighborhood, from downtown to the beach from the Valley to the Westside and everywhere in between. We need bike corridors so people feel safe, a built-out network of separation between bikes and vehicles. Everyone in LA should have a safe and reliable option to ride a bike through-out the city.
Improve Rapid Transit with Subways and Light Rail. Continue expanding subways and light rail while accelerating project timelines. Every neighborhood should have convenient access to transit within a reasonable distance, supported by a fully connected system. Right now it’s a broken maze, we need a plan to connect everyone. This is the future!
Prepare for the Future of Transportation. As self-driving vehicles become more popular, the City needs to build its own fleet. The city should explore building a clean, electric fleet to serve areas underserved by traditional transit.
Safety Perception. Address safety concerns with clear strategies, better communication, and visible improvements—so all Angelenos feel comfortable using public transportation.
Fix our Roads! Potholes, broken roads, messed up sidewalks…LA can do better. We need a comprehensive plan to speed up this process and make our roads more efficient.
-
“Citius, Altius, Fortius”, the Olympic Motto, which is Latin for “Faster, Higher, Stronger”. A powerful motto for LA today, and for the future we are building together
Welcoming the World in 2028. Los Angeles will take center stage as the world arrives. We must be ready—with upgraded infrastructure, efficient transportation, and a clean, vibrant city that makes every Angeleno proud. Success will require coordination, planning, and collaboration—but we will deliver.
“Fitness. Art. Culture.” A Shared Vision. The Olympic spirit should unite us. By promoting citywide initiatives around fitness, art, and culture, we can inspire residents to engage, grow, and connect. Establishing a dedicated council will help bring these efforts to life and create opportunities for all Angelenos to participate.
Beyond The Rings. The Olympics must leave a lasting legacy. This is more than a moment—it’s an opportunity to build a better future. We must focus on long-term solutions for housing, affordability, and mobility, ensuring that progress made for 2028 benefits our city for decades to come.

Los Angeles is the creative center of the world, we must keep it that way!
Bring Production Back to LA. We must stop runaway production and attract projects back to Los Angeles. Competitive tax incentives and credits are essential to keeping film, television, and music production rooted here, rather than losing them to other cities and states.
Cut Red Tape & Streamline Filming. Filming in Los Angeles should be efficient, not burdensome. By simplifying permits, reducing excessive fees, and modernizing processes, we can make it easier for productions to choose LA and stay here. Los Angeles must maintain the crown jewel as the creative hub of the world.
Support the Workforce Behind the Scenes. Thousands of jobs—from grips and gaffers to writers, designers, and production crews—depend on a strong local industry. We need policies that protect and grow these “below-the-line” careers and keep our workforce thriving.
Invest in Infrastructure & Innovation. Expanding soundstages and supporting cutting-edge production technology will ensure Los Angeles remains at the forefront of global entertainment.
Champion Live Music. Our live music venues are vital to the cultural and economic fabric of the city. By offering targeted incentives and support, we can help venues thrive and keep costs manageable.

City Hall exists to serve you—plain and simple.
Transparency & Accountability. Residents deserve clear, honest communication about how decisions are made and how our city moves forward. Government should be open, accessible, and accountable—so you always know where we stand and where we’re going.
Fiscal Responsibility. With the taxes our community contributes, we must prioritize responsible spending and maintain a balanced budget. Smart financial management is essential to building a stronger future.
Infrastructure Investment. It’s time to repair our streets and modernize aging infrastructure. Strategic capital improvements will not only enhance daily life but also create jobs and support long-term growth.
